Foxhunting Open days are an excellent way to meet new friends and build a deeper bond with your horse and nature. Open days feature a relaxed dress code, think polo shirts, breeches, boots and helmet (required). They are are open to riders of all ages and disciplines. We typically offer three divisions to choose from – First flight jumpers, 2nd flight jumping optional or 3rd flight trailriders/hilltoppers. You are welcome to change flights during the hunt by notifying the field master (group leader). Hunting fixtures are located in and around the Middlefield, Ohio area. Exact location and parking instructions are provided by RSVP to

The Chagrin Valley Hunt is celebrating 112 years of Foxhunting in Northeast, Ohio. Regular season meets are held 2-3 days per week July through December on private land open to us by our many generous landowners. Each location offers a unique experience and due to the weather, temperature and scent no two hunting days are ever the same. Foxhunting is a family friendly sport focusing on the thrill of the chase and enjoyment spent in nature with friends and horses.

It must be emphasized that ‘Open Days’ are not the only ways to experience hunting for the first time.  We are more than happy to have your first time to experience hunting being on one of our regular hunt days – Contact Us and we will help you out to the best of our ability to make the day enjoyable for both you and your horse.
